Norman or Breton?!

On the border of Normandy and Brittany, this medieval architectural gem is an abbey founded in 966 by Benedictine monks. It has welcomed countless pilgrims since then. It also served as a fortress during the Hundred Years' War and a prison during the French Revolution until 1863.

Mont Saint-Michel witnesses the highest tides in continental Europe, with up to a 15-meter difference between low and high tide. During high tides, the sea recedes 15 kilometers from the coast and rises very quickly.
